First Day Welcome To Erie Migration District School
We are very excited to begin a new year at the new Erie Migration District School and are very much looking forward to the first day of school which is Tuesday, September 3rd. Erie Migration is a Kindergarten to grade 12 school with the elementary and secondary schools being side by side with separate entrances.
If you are entering the elementary school, enter the parking lot and/or the entryway closest to Main Street or if you are facing the front of the school, it鈥檚 the parking lot to the right. When you enter the parking lot go straight until you can make a right. Turn at the first right and this will take you to the Kiss and Ride or you can enter the parking lot.
The Kiss and Ride is a large loop that will take you to a drop off area where there is a large sidewalk for students to get to the side or back of the school where students are supervised until the bell rings at 9:15 a.m. Please do not park in the Kiss and Ride area. Students can be dropped off as early as 9:00 a.m. at the hardtop entry gate. Students cannot be dropped off prior to 9:00 a.m. because there is no supervision.
If you are dropping off and picking up a kindergarten student, please safely park in the parking lot and walk your child to the entry gate. Again, students can be dropped off between 9:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. and picked up at 3:35 p.m.
Erie Migration District School has a balanced day. We have two nutrition breaks throughout the day. Students will need a lunch, snack, and water bottle to fill at our water stations. Students will have physical activity each day so proper footwear should be sent to school with your child. Furthermore, students should be dressed for outdoor weather. Our first nutrition breaks are 10:55 a.m. - 11:35 a.m. and our second nutrition break is 1:15 p.m. - 1:55 p.m. During this time, students will have 20 minutes of eating time and 20 minutes of outdoor time. If your child is in kindergarten, you should send a change of clothes that are kept at the school if required.
An event called 鈥淢eet the Staff鈥 will be held in late September or early October. On this day, students and parents can attend an event at the school to meet with teachers and staff. More information will be shared regarding this event.
There is a student handbook which includes many of our policies and procedures that is created each year for every school. This will be posted on and the website as soon as it is available.
We look forward to a great year at our new school! If you have any questions please reach out to us at 519-733-2347.
