The Student of the Month for June is Yugraj Dhillon, a Gr. 11 student at Tecumseh Vista Academy and an outstanding role model for the theme of 鈥渓别补诲别谤蝉丑颈辫鈥.
Despite his family鈥檚 arrival in Ontario just last year from Alberta, Yugraj has made a massive impact on the life at Tecumseh Vista Academy. He is very involved in extracurricular activities including the ethics team, debate team and student parliament. Yugraj doesn't just participate in these activities, he leads them. He takes on a big role in the planning of events and acts as a mentor for younger students.
An accomplished speaker, Yugraj was the MC for the school band's holiday concert and Culturefest. In fact, he played a large role in the week-long celebration, which was the biggest one in the school鈥檚 history. Yugraj spent over 100 hours leading his team in planning to celebrate the diversity at TVA.
This year, Yugraj won the Best Speaker Award at the University of Windsor鈥檚 Odette School of Business debate tournament. He also placed 3rd at Western University鈥檚 ethics tournament, and led his team to a 3rd place finish at the international Apocalypse Hackathon at Shopify鈥檚 Toronto office.
All Yugraj needs is a time and date, and he will be there helping his peers in any way he can, being the leader he has become. Congratulations Yugraj on being selected by Student Senate as the June Student of the Month for leadership!
