Classes are provided for novice to advanced dancers who demonstrate an aptitude, interest and commitment to dance. Students concentrate on ballet, jazz and modern dance, and have the opportunity to explore other genres such as hip-hop and ballroom. They also learn theory, choreography, anatomy and history of dance.

Grade 9
ATC 1OW - Technique Focused Course
This course covers all styles of dance, aiming to improve dancers’ technical abilities while introducing anatomy and dance history. Available to Dance and Music Theatre students.
ATM 1OW - Modern Dance
This course explores improvisation and modern technique, enhancing dancers’ creative and artistic abilities, and includes rehearsing choreography for performances. Available to Dance students only.
Grade 10
ATC 2OW - Technique Focused Course
Building on the Grade 9 course, this class continues to improve dancers’ technical abilities and expands on anatomy and dance history. Available to Dance and Music Theatre students.
ATD 2OW - Composition Dance
This course delves into the creative process and improvisation, focusing on developing students’ skills in composing choreography and creating various dance pieces. Available to Dance students only.
Grade 11
ATC 3MW - Technique Focused Course
This course continues to improve dancers’ technical abilities, with further expansion on anatomical understanding and dance history. Available to Dance and Music Theatre students.
ATJ 3MW - Jazz Dance
Students will explore a variety of dance styles associated with Jazz, including Afro-Jazz, Swing, Latin, Tap, Music Theatre, and Hip Hop. They will perform various dance pieces created throughout the course. Available to Dance students only.
Grade 12
ATC 4MW - Technique Focused Course
This course aims to further improve dancers’ technical abilities, expanding on anatomical language and kinesthetic analysis of movement. Students will conduct research on various elements of dance history. Available to Dance and Music Theatre students.
ATP 4MW - Performance Dance
Students will collaboratively develop a show that is student-choreographed and planned. They will be responsible for all aspects of the performance, including lighting, sound, transitions, media components, Front of House arrangements, tickets, programs, and advertising, all centered around a theme chosen by the class. Available to Dance students only.
